It can be evidenced by :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IV skin tracks <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skin popping scars from prior or current abscesses<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior detox\/maintenance treatment records <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ER\/hospital discharge records for opioid drug overdose<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.questdiagnostics.com\/testcenter\/TestDetail.action?ntc=92464&amp;searchString=urine%20drug%20screen\">Drug Screen Tests<\/a> using Urine, Saliva, Blood, Sweat, Hair, or Interstitial Fluid. (methods to sense analytes include lateral flow\/dip sticks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telemedical.com\/wordpress\/morphine-sensors\/\">electrochemistry<\/a>, or others)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opiate withdrawal symptoms and signs -COWS assessment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cures.doj.ca.gov\/siteminderagent\/forms\/DOJOBlogin.fcc?\">CURES re<\/a>port indicating  if there are any prescribed controlled substances &#8211; compared to drug screen results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biomarkers of opiate dependency.  &#8211;  EEG,  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41398-021-01228-7\">Metabolic profile<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41386-018-0232-4\">fMRI<\/a>,  and others<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Legal records of opiate use<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continuous opiate level monitoring<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Continuous nonprescribed use of heroin, morphine,\u00a0 oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, meperidine, tramadol, carfentanil or fentanyl over a 6 month or longer period is indicative of Opioid Use Disorder.
